Het horlogehuis Audemars Piguet is een toonaangevende producent van horloges van het allerhoogste niveau met een rijke geschiedenis en traditie. In 1875 startten Jules-Louis Audemars en Edward-Auguste Piguet een horlogefabriek en anno 2012 is de familie Audemars nog steeds actief betrokken bij de bedrijfsvoering.
Een ‘AP’ is altijd tot in de perfectie afgewerkt, gemaakt door de meest getalenteerde horlogemakers en uit duizenden herkenbaar. Die herkenbaarheid schuilt hem soms in unieke en gecompliceerde uurwerken, soms in ingetogen klassieke modellen of uitbundig elegante damescreaties, maar toch vooral in de karakteristieke achthoekige Royal Oak sporthorloges. Dit jaar viert dit iconisch geworden model zijn veertigste verjaardag.
